District 5 Representatives

Mary Gay Scanlon

Mary Gay Scanlon has been an incumbent since 2019. Her LCV Lifetime Scorecard ranking is 97%.

Even though Scanlon doesn’t have a long record, she has a good record. Her campaign doesn’t focus on sustainability or clean energy, but she clearly supports efforts to reduce pollution, dirty energy production and consumption, and keeping endangered ecosystems safe through her voting record.

PennEnvironment, a Pennsylvania based environmental organization, honored Scanlon this year for her “…ongoing leadership and support for protecting parks, public lands, and open spaces, here in Pennsylvania and across the nation.” She was honored in part for ongoing support to permanently reauthorize the Land and Water Conservation Fund, which has given almost $23 million to the fifth Pennsylvania congressional district.

Although there isn’t a ton of information regarding her stances on sustainability and green energy, her voting record really speaks for her dedication to fighting climate change.
